This week we are reading, The Harvest Birds by Blanca Lopez de Mariscal. It is a traditional tale about a man named Juan that loves nature. He wants to grow crops but he does not have any land. Juan borrows some land from an old man in town and Juan promises that if he cannot grow his crops that he will work for the man for free.
