THis week in third grade
unit 7Essential Question: How do pictures help to tell a story?
This week we are reading, What Do Illustrators Do? by Eileen Christelow. We will be learning about the different ways in which stories can be illustrated and why those illustrations are chosen. We will also be examining text and graphic features of nonfiction texts. Specifically we will be looking at text features such as titles, headings, and special types of text and why and how they are used. The graphic features that we will discuss include illustrations, maps, and charts. Understanding why these features are used can help students better understand nonfiction texts.
